One of the  cornerstones of the sufi path is service, however that Service isnt only given to one’s fellow human beings. We are to serve all of creation. But as you may ask, how does one serve all creation.  I would like to share with you one way this is done.

I didn’t know anything about the Mehr animal shelter until a fellow dervish told me about it. Stray or abused animals in Iran are taken in and cared for, and new homes for them are found in Iran or North America. Really great work is done there and I would like to in this post tell you briefly about this organization. In the next post I wan’t to share with you some words on their struggle and more important an idea I have had  on a way I would like to offer my services and assistance.

About the Mehr Animal Shelter

Our objectives are to rescue, treat, shelter, and improvement of the overall wellbeing of abused and stray animals. Moreover, we try to cooperate with governmental organizations in order to manage the population of feral animals via humane and ethical means with no harm to animals. All the activities of Mehr Shelter are conducted with the jurisdicton of Islamic Republic of Iran‘s laws

Currently Mehr Shelter hosts and cares for 80 dogs which are all vaccinated and in good health conditions. All the female dogs have been spayed and quite a few of the rescued dogs have been already adopted
