What Did You Do About it? by Dr. Stewart Bitkoff

Excitedly grasshopper came hopping up to turtle.  “A crowd of young turtles are down by the Pond and making fun of young turtle.  Publicly, young turtle is trying to capture silver minnow with his mind.”

Turtle inquired, ‘well, what did you do to stop them?’

‘I told them to stop making fun of things they couldn’t understand.’

‘Did that work?’

‘No, they just kept at it.’

‘Well, I guess its time to do something, instead, of talking about it.’

With these words, turtle rushed for a turtle that is, down to the Pond and sat beside young turtle.  All the while, others kept making fun of young turtle.  In fact, when turtle arrived the insults increased.

When turtle focused his inner gaze upon a stream of silver minnows that were swimming by; one by one, the minnows began to jump out of the Pond and land at his feet.  When the entire school was flopping about on the shore, turtle yelled out to the crowd of young turtles, ‘don’t make fun of things you cannot understand.’

As this sight, the crowd of young turtles quickly swam away, yelling, ‘witchcraft!  Witchcraft!  Turtle is a witch.’

Then, master and student helped the silver minnows find their way back into the Pond.

The Lesson

  • In spiritual studies, slowly the traveler learns to accept possibilities within the framework/context of a teaching system or Path.  Just because a traveler does not believe or know about something- doesn’t make it true or untrue.  Many realities are potentials waiting for the traveler to accept and believe.  At present, they are Truths or possibilities, waiting, beyond his/her scope or belief system.
  • Sometimes in order to travel further or resolve an impasse, we require a little help from our friends (Teacher).  Also, it must be the right time, right place, and right time; in this story, the lesson was multi-level and for all participants to learn something.

One Response to What Did You Do About it? by Dr. Stewart Bitkoff

Yes, it’s very important to have quality impressions. When one is surrounded by negativity, by dysfunction, by low quality of external impressions then one is more apt to get lost and remain lost.

Interestingly, with the mass’s there is no ‘winning’. If he has no powers he is a fool. If he has what is perceived as too much power he becomes a ‘witch’. The one who is beyond the periphery of the common belief system is bound to be cast out, declared insane, or crucified. Sometimes he is made into a superman for a while and then crucified. Nice story.
